||The Chevrolet Volt offers the efficiency of an electric car and you'll see that in your operating costs. Charging Volt costs around the same as running a common household appliance. For an average of $1.50 a day, most drivers can have a gas-free and tailpipe-emissions-free commute. Charging times vary - 10 hours (depending on climate) when using the standard 120V charge cord that comes with the Volt, or if you use a dedicated 240V line, you can have Volt fully charged in about four hours.|
||If you choose to join the automotive revolution and become a Volt owner, a Customer Advisor will be there to assist you every step of the way. Once your order has been accepted for production, an advisor will put you in touch with SPX Service Solutions, our home-charging partner. Their support team will assist you in finding the charging option that fits your needs, including having a Volt-dedicated 240V line installed at your home.|
||To help offset the costs of installing a Volt charging station in your home, many Volt buyers will be eligible for tax credits1 and there are programs available to assist with the cost of chargers and installation. A tax credit of up to 50% of the total installation cost (not to exceed $2,000) for property placed in service before January 1, 2011, may be available for those installing a dedicated 240V charging station.2 Early Volt buyers may also be eligible for one of 4,400 Department of Energy (DOE) grant free charging stations.|
||The 7-inch diagonal high-resolution touch screen in the center console of the Volt allows you to program the charging schedule based on electricity rate plans, including cheaper off-peak hours (where available) so you can get the most out of every kilowatt. It also provides real-time information on energy usage and powerflow, and it even displays efficiency tips.|
