If you’re looking for a Chevy truck, the automotive professionals at Ron Tonkin Chevrolet in Portland are here to help our customers in Portland, Gresham, Vancouver, and beyond in their search and make it enjoyable. We have a large inventory of Chevy Trucks for you to choose from that can meet whatever your truck needs may be. Chevrolet offers three different main truck models: the Colorado, Silverado, and Silverado HD, which includes the 2500 and 3500. There are a number of features that the Chevy trucks share, such as safety features and available technologies, but there are also other benefits each model has to offer that set them apart. Read below to see just what they are!

Chevy Colorado

If you need a truck that can get the job done without sacrificing fuel-efficiency and good looks, the mid-size Chevy Colorado is a great choice. The Colorado is the smallest truck Chevrolet offers, but it still has large capabilities. It comes with three engine options: the 2.5L 4-cylinder, 3.6L DOHC V6, or the Duramax® 2.8L Turbo-Diesel. The three engines produce between 191 and 369 lb.-ft. of torque, have a towing capability of up to 7,700-lbs., and get up to 30 MPG highway, depending on the engine. If you’re looking for a truck with great off-road capabilities, the Colorado ZR2 is built to take on tough roads. The Chevy Colorado also comes in five other trims, offering plenty of different features with each level. When considering if the Colorado is the right Chevy truck for you, keep in mind that this truck is best suited for those who don’t need the full-size or heavy-duty capabilities of the other models but rather a smaller pickup.

Chevy Silverado

Next up in the weight class is the Chevy Silverado. The Silverado 1500 is a full-size pickup that is both strong and efficient. This Chevrolet truck has a choice of six different engines and eight different trims. With these different options, the Chevy Silverado produces up to 460 lb.-ft. of torque and a max towing capability of up to 13,400 lbs. The available Duramax® 3.0L Turbo-Diesel engine offers better fuel economy than any other pickup at an EPA-estimated 23 MPG city and 33 MPG highway. The truck bed has been designed to be lighter, stronger, and hold more cargo, plus it has 12 standard tie-downs. You can also add on the available Z71 off-road package to make the Chevy Silverado’s off-road capabilities even more impressive. The interior provides the best of both worlds with the spacious and comfortable cabin.

Chevy Silverado HD

If you need a hard-working, full-size truck that can haul it all, look no further than the Chevy Silverado HD. The Silverado HD is available in both the 2500 and 3500, with the 2500 meaning three-quarter-ton weight class and the 3500 meaning one-ton weight class. These two trucks have two engine options which provide the 2500 with a towing capability of up to 18,510 lbs. and the 3500 with capabilities up to 35,500 lbs. which means the Silverado HD is always ready for work or play. It also has top-notch trailering technologies such as up to 15 camera views, the Advanced Trailering System to monitor important information, and features including the StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System, Tow/Haul mode, and more. To make it even more comfortable and functional, this truck was redesigned with a longer wheelbase, higher cab, and larger cargo bed, with the largest cargo volume compared to the competition, and it also includes integrated BedSteps to easily access the front of the cargo bed.
